The story culminates in a terrifying climax involving the death of Roderick Usher and the destruction of the house. He soon realizes that something is very wrong with the house and its inhabitants. ![]() The protagonist, who is unnamed, comes to the house to visit his friend Roderick Usher. The house is in ruins and its occupants, the Usher family, are strange and mysterious.
